Why doesn't the app show sights near me?
Allow location access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Sights GPS. The sight database covers the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Why do I see only some Roadside sights?
Roadside sights (overlooks, pullouts and roadside attractions) are shown only when they are within about a mile of your route, so they never pull you far off the road. Must See and Interesting sights use the detour distance you choose in Settings.
Does the app work without a connection?
Sights are stored on your phone, so browsing them works offline. Maps, search and turn-by-turn directions come from Apple Maps and need a data connection.
Why does the app ask to use my location in the background?
Only so turn-by-turn navigation keeps working when your screen is locked or you switch apps. Background location is used only while you are navigating, and iOS shows an indicator while it is active.
Where are my ratings and notes saved?
Only on your iPhone. They're included in your iPhone backups, and you can see them all under Settings → My Ratings & Notes.
A sight is wrong or missing.
Email us with the sight name and location and we'll fix it in a future update.
